Talented DJs To Look

1. Tim Westwood :
Hailing from the U.K., Tim Westwood pioneered hiphop in his country and was the first DJ to introduce early American rappers to the U.K. audience. He has since played a major role in the U.K.s hiphop movement and has recently been showcasing talent from the local grime scene. Westwood is definitely an important artist to follow for U.K. and U.S. hiphop/grime music.

2. Skrillex :
Skrillex is a Grammy Awardwinning electronic musician and singersongwriter. Although he is better known for his regular hit songs, one of my personal favorites is the lesserknown collaboration Make It Bun Dem with Damian Marley, the son of reggae legend Bob Marley. This is another innovative genreblending track sitting on the experimental end of the music spectrum by uniquely mixing dubstep with EDM and making it work. Skrillex is, without a doubt, a legendary artist and an obvious choice for the top DJs you want to follow.

3. DJ Drama :
DJ Drama is, without a doubt, one of the hottest DJs in the Dirty South subgenre of hiphop. He is responsible for launching the careers of hiphop artists throughout the industry. His successful Gangsta Grillz mix tapes are legendary, and the R&B Dirty South Oh My remix, featuring Trey Songz, Big Sean, and 2 Chainz, is infectious. If you want to keep up with the pulse of hiphop, check out DJ Dramas work.

4. DJ Kay Slay :
KaySlay, aka The Drama King, is, in many ways, the king of New York hiphop. His Streetsweeper mix tapes serve as a powerful pillar to the underground hiphop scene, and he gets extra credit for regularly featuring Papoose, one of the greatest underground emcees, in a lot of his tracks. Basically, your hiphop collection isnt complete without some of KaySlays work.

6. DJ Waxxy :
DJ Waxxy is one of the most successful South Africanbased Nigerian DJs and an established veteran in the industry. He has unique versatility, playing combinations of R&B, reggae, dancehall, hiphop, and a bit of electronic house. Hes also a great media personality, anchoring music shows on Channel O and Big Brother Africa in South Africa, and building an evergrowing international music profile. He has performed with many globally successful artists, including Missy Elliott, Akon, Omarion, Jay Sean, Sean Paul, Blu Cantrell, Junior Reid, Marcus Houston, Bow Wow, Busta Rhymes, PSquare, Dbanj, and many more. I love that hes become an ambassador for African music, and he is a perfect pick for this list.

7. Nicky Romero :
Nicky Romero is a worldfamous, successful DJ and electronic dance music composer/producer. He is a part of the EDM collective who has recently racked up incredible crossover mainstream success. Hes worked with other heavyweights in this genre, including Ti?sto, Calvin Harris, Sander van Doorn, David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand, and Avicii. He has worked on collaborations with mainstream pop artists with global appeal, but I especially like his remix of Ludacriss Rest of My Life, featuring Usher and David Guetta. It switches up the tempo and shows off Ushers soulful singing and Ludacriss commanding rap style, giving the song a feverish twist. Gauging by what hes done so far, Nicky Romero is going to be one to keep following.

8. Avicii :
Like the sounds of Swedish House Mafia and Alesso? Well, I have another favorite for you:Aviccii is a Swedish electronic dance DJ who piqued listeners interest in EDM via collaborations with mainstream R&B and pop artists. In particular, he found a way to combine Leona Lewiss Collide, a song that I found to be a deeply emotional, with EDM to perfection.

9. DJ Tiesto :
DJ Tiesto is one of the shining stars of the electronic dance music scene. For me, its the way he mixes a party song with different drums and melodies to give it that magical quality that transports you to a different world. If you love electronic dance, Ti?sto has to be at the top of your playlist. Im a hiphop fan, and I especially love Feel It, the track he did with Three 6 Mafia, Sean Kingston, and Flo Rida.

10. DJ Xclusive :
DJ Xclusive is a BritishNigerian DJ, artist, and producer. Another master crowdpleaser, Xclusive is the official DJ for Wizkid, one of my alltime favorite Nigerian artists. He has appeared in many of Wizkids biggest shows and music videos. Between his style, mixing skills, and ability to entertain, Xclusive is on his way to the top of the DJ industry.

11. DJ Green Lantern :
DJ Green Lantern is one of hiphops finest. He is extremely dynamic and such a wiz at the turntable that, at one point, he was signed to be Eminems official DJ. He is also a great producer, and his remix of Tupac and Nass Thugz Mansion is an emotional masterpiece.

12. DJ Jimmy Jatt :
