3 . PORSCHE 911 TURBO S
The Nissans archrival is the Porsche 911 Turbo S. With 560hp and a dual clutch gearbox, its pace off the line is a touch slower than the GT R but its no slouch youll hit 62mph just 3.1 seconds after the wheels start rolling with the aid of launch control.
4 . FERRARI FF
From ruthless Japanese and German efficiency, to something a little more exotic now the Ferrari FF uses a clever four wheel drive system that sends drive to the rear off the back of the engine, and power to the front wheels off the front of the engine. A 660hp V12 means 0 62mph in 3.7 seconds, and enough room to store your skis.
5 . BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT SPEED
The Ferrari FFs closest natural rival is the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Its just been revised this year, but the recipe is a familiar one: a mammoth 635hp 6.0 litre W12 and a top speed of 206mph makes this the fastest and most powerful production Bentley ever. 0 62mph in 4.2 isnt bad either.
6 . BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT3 R
Except its not the fastest accelerating Continental that honour goes to the V8 GT3 R. Its twin turbo 4.0 litre V8 puts out ?just 580hp compared to the W12 Speeds 635, but a 100kg weight saving over the V8 S on which its based means a 3.8 second 0 62mph time.
7 . LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR
The Lamborghini Aventador might not be as sophisticated as the Ferrari in terms of its gearbox (single clutch plays dual clutch here), but it still doesnt stop Lambos halo car trouncing the Ferrari 0 62mph takes just 2.9 seconds. Thatll be the 700hp V12 and four wheel drive, then.
8 . LAMBORGHINI HURACAN
The Aventadors new baby brother, the Huracan, is snapping at its heels, however. The same benchmark test takes just 3.2 seconds in the Italian firms baby supercar. With 90hp less.
9 . LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 4 Superleggera Edizione Tecnica is a mouthful, but it was the zenith of Gallardo production. Along with the Super Trofeo variant and the final Squadra Corse edition (pictured), its sonorous V10 engine could shoot it off the line and onto 62mph in 3.4 seconds.
10 . AUDI R8
The Audi R8 has steadily evolved the four wheel drive supercar recipe over the years from the original V8 to the current range topper, the R8 LMX with its laser headlights. V10 power, dual clutch box and four wheel drive means 0 62mph in 3.4.
